If you don't have a seat at the table.....just make your own table.

This chapter is about gaining your seat EARLIER instead of later. Lynn demonstrates some great examples as to why as a woman you can't wait till you're in a more senior role to FIGHT for your seat. Begin your fight on day one. She uses analogies that we as people can understand across the board, my favorite analogy is the "adult table". As kids, we sat at the small kids table, ate after the adults, and held a kid-like conversation....but once you graduated to the adult table, you know you got everything FIRST. Have the same feeling of wanting to progress in your career as you did when it was time to go to the adult's table.

How to get your seat at the table

1. Keep your eyes open.

Find the key players who are making moves.

2. Create a road map.

This road map will help you navigate your goals realistically.

3. Stay aware.

Pay attention to whats going on in your career early on.

4. Advocate for yourself

If you notice you are being kept at the kid's table speak up.

5. Mentorship and Sponsorship

The tools to your success, these people help you grow through your career.
