Agent You: Stay Ready, So You Don’t Have to Get Ready

This chapter is definitely a life lesson and let me tell you…..take note because it has definitely paid off in mine.

This chapter Lynn speaks about how she has always had the desire to be an analyst on a major sports network throughout the year. Lynn, unsure of the steps to take, reached out to a friend that worked in the industry for advice, she was to create a reel tape (remember this).

Three months go by and Nicole is at the Ravens versus Raiders game and is headed to the suite the player she represented had for his family and friends, but the suite was to also be shared. Turns out the room was shared with Sage Steele, an analyst that works for ESPN. I won't share all the tea….so read Chapter 6 to find out what happened in this moment!

Personally Nicole’s story inspired me. This past weekend I had the opportunity to travel to Jacksonville, Florida to meet with different executives within the sports industry so I asked myself “How will I set myself apart?” So this is what I did:

  • Wore a colored suit, a powder blue. Still professional and sleek

  • Had a resume prepared along with a reference letter

  • BUSINESS CARDS, and let me tell you how ON brand (reference Chapter 4) I was. My business cards matched my suit AND I also provided a QR code that directed individuals to my linktree to learn more about me.

Read this chapter and learn something new!
